Discovering Online Marketing Made Easy

Online Marketing is one of those things that carries a certain mystery surrounding not only how to do it, but how to do it well. I have been developing website and online content since 1999. Ten years on the internet is a long time in technology time. It’s like dog years. While it has been rather simple to keep up with the technology, online marketing still seems to mystify me. This is why I have started to do some research. While I am still looking for answers, here are a few online marketing tips that might help.

1. Add Your Site to Google

The first step to marketing your site online, is getting it added to the search engine. Google may eventually find your site, but why wait. Tell Google where your site is by submitting it to be crawled. You can submit your site to http://www.google.com/addurl.

2. Blogging

Believe it or not, but blogging can get your website noticed by the search engines as well. As a matter of fact, I have a number 1 listing in the natural listings for svn headers & svn header information on Google at the time of this writing for this very blog. While it has taken time, I have held that listing for a long time. So blogging can help with your online marketing through natural listings.

3. Social Media Marketing

Right now the hottest topic on the internet is social media. The most common are sites like Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, Stumbleupon, etc. If you can build a big enough following of people, it can help your marketing efforts. The best way to build your social media marketing is by providing interesting and relevant content so people would want to follow you.

This is first part of the online marketing research I have done. These are all good places to start. Content will be the biggest winner when it comes to marketing since that is how it will get you noticed. This doesn’t mean you can simply through a bunch of crap in a web page and you are going to drive a lot of traffic. It has to be relevant to the topic you are righting about.

Watch for some follow up articles about Online Marketing. As I discover new ideas and new techniques, I will share them here. You can follow me on my journey to natural marketing techniques.
